Quickstart — your first section in 5 minutes¶
In 5 minutes you'll see GeoSection NX at work on a real example.
1. Open the app¶
Go to nx.geostru.ai/geosection/.
2. Load an example¶
Toolbar → Open example → pick a packaged dataset (real geotechnical boreholes with typical stratigraphy).
The app loads:
- Map with the borehole locations.
- Section trace already drawn.
- Boreholes (3 to 6 typical holes).
3. Inspect the boreholes¶
Click a borehole on the map → the side panel opens with:
- Layer stratigraphy (top, bottom, lithology, symbology).
- Water-table depth.
- Core photos (when available).
- In-situ tests (SPT, CPT, …).
4. Generate the section¶
Click Generate section. GeoSection:
- Projects boreholes onto the trace (cumulative position along the polyline).
- Draws the stratigraphic columns of the boreholes.
- Linear interpolation between adjacent boreholes for horizons.
- Draws the water table as a blue line (dashed in transition zones).
- Generates the soil table at the bottom.
5. Export¶
Toolbar → Export:
- SVG — vector for Inkscape, Illustrator, web.
- DXF — vector for AutoCAD/BricsCAD.
- PDF — paginated report ready for delivery.
Next steps¶
- Full workflow — a real project from start to finish.
- FAQ — questions about boreholes.
